Humane education sets the foundation for our work and saves cats’ lives. It’s defined as “a process that encourages an understanding of the need for compassion and respect for people, animals and the environment and recognizes the interdependence of all living things.”
Alley Cat Allies believes that humane education is the one of the pillars of a compassionate society and saving the lives of cats. In fact, one of our core values is recognizing and enhancing the compassion people everywhere have for cats. If people are armed with the right information and given the opportunity to know better, then they will do better for animals.
In our efforts to promote humane education Alley Cat Allies launches campaigns and provide essential tools, including printed materials, webinars, outreach flyers and more for the public.
Lifesaving Information
The information we share and the materials we produce save the lives of cats.
We know cats. Our cat care information educates people on a wide variety of hands-on know-how including how to care for community cats, do Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), decode cat behavior, and give neonatal kittens the round-the-clock care they need.
Campaigns
Our campaigns like Global Cat Day®, Leave Them BeTM, and Microchips Save Lives® are designed to help people no matter what their part is in saving lives to have a lifesaving impact. Every campaign is a chance to educate and mobilize people.

Getting the Word Out

To help spread the word to a wider audience, our online store provides these materials professionally printed in quantities to share. Our online store also includes one-of-a-kind buttons, totes, t-shirts, and other clever ways to help get our lifesaving message out.
It’s always good to have a little one-on-one learning time, and that’s what our online webinars provide. We cover a variety of topics with live Q&A sessions so you can get the answers you need.
We’re always happy to share our expertise. Alley Cat Allies holds workshops to help educate communities and we speak at conferences all over the world.
