Luna Lands in a Loving Home

ADOPTED! Luna, all of us at Alley Cat Allies are unbelievably happy for you!

Luna was in rough shape when we met her earlier this year through our ongoing spay and neuter and wellness program with The Humane Society of Atlantic County (we’re well on track to spaying and neutering 1,000 cats between June and October 2023!). Partially blind and suffering from a condition veterinarians couldn’t quite pinpoint, Luna had been surrendered by her previous caretaker, who wanted her to receive the best possible care.

While she has not regained her sight, Luna is feeling so much better after weeks of expert care and has come out of her shell beautifully! She’s a champ at learning and navigating her surroundings with her disability, though we know she’ll be so much more comfortable in a space to call her own forever.

To nobody’s surprise—she’s an amazing cat—it didn’t take long for Luna to be swept into the arms of a loving new family! It’s been a long and difficult road, but Luna has a bright future ahead of her. Our donors and supporters helped her heal and find the right home where she can thrive, and we’re incredibly grateful.

We wish nothing but the best for you, Luna, and we’re so glad to have helped you along your journey.

One Eye, All Heart—Narissa Has Come So Far

Alley Cat Allies has been working with organization Community Cats of Central Arkansas since the devastating tornados of late March 2023 hit the Little Rock area. The result: So many cats’ and kittens’ lives saved! Narissa is just one of those stories of hope and healing.

A few weeks ago, veterinarians determined that Narissa’s best chance to thrive was to remove one of her eyes, which had been injured. Alley Cat Allies covered the costs of the procedure and her ongoing care—and we’re so happy to report that she is healing beautifully!

We know Narissa is relieved to no longer have that pressure and pain. And she’s sweet as can be, so she’ll be up for adoption as soon as her stitches come out!

Thank you to our supporters for making it possible to provide her treatment—as well as that of many other cats and kittens in the Little Rock area.

Adopt Sweet Sassy

Beautiful Sassy is still waiting for the right family to take her home—and that lucky family will have a loving, adoring companion like no other!

A young lady at just a year and a half old, Sassy is talkative, affectionate, and full of life. She loves attention so much that she’ll drop anything she’s doing and come running when you call her name—even if she’s eating! We know she’ll blossom in her own forever home…could it be yours?

The Truth About Cats and Rabies

On World Rabies Day, September 28, and every day: spread the word that cats pose NO major rabies threat. Cats rarely contract rabies, let alone transmit it, and cat-to-human rabies transmission is almost impossibly rare.

Why is this important? Because despite these facts, rabies is often cited in bogus claims that cats outdoors are a threat to communities and used to justify rounding up and killing them.

Also, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), the only humane and effective approach to community cat populations, is the number one way community cats receive rabies vaccinations!

Cats are safe members of our communities.
