We’re Saving Cats with National Feral Cat Day Actions
Yesterday, Alley Cat Allies was on the ground in Lebanon, Tennessee, to support the National Feral Cat Day action of New Leash on Life. The incredible result: 100+ cats and kittens were spayed or neutered! Cats and kittens like Blue and Muffin were also vaccinated, received any needed medical care and, if they were community cats who live outdoors, were eartipped as part of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).
The cats’ caregivers also went home with no-cost cat food and Alley Cat Allies educational materials.
Today we’re doing it all again in Sumner County, Tennessee, with Sumner Spay Neuter Alliance! Overall, 200+ cats and kittens, both companion and community cats, from at least 15 Tennessee counties will be reached with critical surgeries—and many more through cat food resources.
Both Tennessee communities also work closely together throughout the year to save cats’ lives. This kind of united community work is what it means to respect that Cats Are Community.
We can’t wait to see what National Feral Cat Day action you take! You can find ideas here. Be sure to post about your action on social media and tag with #GlobalCatDay, #NationalFeralCatDay, and #CatsAreCommunity!
