Today was another full day of rescue and emergency care. The Alley Cat Allies Rapid Response Team helped ensure more cats rushed from the burn and evacuation zones of the Palisades fire received a veterinary examination and treatment at Palms & Paws Veterinary Center in Santa Monica. All of the cats will be carefully watched for signs of smoke inhalation damage and we’ll cover any treatment they may need moving forward.

We want to introduce you to Astro, Strawberry Shortcake, Cutie, and Mama, some of the cats who are now safe and sound thanks to our Rapid Response Team’s work with other animal organizations on the ground and our supporters like you. Their caregiver had to evacuate their home and was relieved the little family would receive help. We’re proud to have covered the costs of medical care for all.

The situation on the ground changes every minute, and Alley Cat Allies is moving swiftly and fluidly to help however we can. Alongside funding veterinary care, our Rapid Response Team has helped transport cats wherever they need to go (and doing their best to comfort them at the veterinary clinic).

As part of our emergency response, we also brought in microchip scanners, cat oxygen masks, and more supplies today. They are now ready and available to aid cats and kittens rescued from the blazes that continue to burn, bolstered by powerful winds.

We’ll share more stories of our impact—and yours—soon. Thank you to our supporters, cat rescue organization Femme Felines, and Palms & Paws for helping us save cats’ lives.

If you would like to support our California fire response, every gift helps.
