As Alley Cat Allies works toward a world where every cat is valued and protected, we strive to be as transparent as possible as an organization. We are proud to say our commitment to accountability has been recognized yet again by Charity Navigator, the largest charity evaluator in the United States!

For the seventh consecutive year, Alley Cat Allies has earned the esteemed and exceptional Charity Navigator 4-star rating. Only seven percent of evaluated charities have received this highest designation for seven years in a row or more.

Charity Navigator awards its 4-star rating to charities that “exceed industry standards and outperform most charities in [their] area of work.”

Alley Cat Allies has also again received the Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, its highest level of recognition. The Platinum Seal proves our “commitment to transparency” through providing up-to-date information on our progress.

“Our more than half a million supporters worldwide stand behind Alley Cat Allies because they know their generosity will have a direct and lifesaving impact,” says Becky Robinson, our president and founder. “We are honored to receive continued recognition from Charity Navigator and GuideStar for the values that have always been at the core of our organization.”

In this time of uncertainty, the world looks to leaders who are open, honest, and impactful in their work. Alley Cat Allies is proud to continue being that leader in the global movement to protect cats and kittens.

Amid the financial crisis resulting from the pandemic, we know that donors are more mindful than ever about how and where to direct their charitable contributions. As indicated by our 4-star and Platinum designations, every dollar you give Alley Cat Allies will support our critical work to:

  • Transform an entrenched system in which animal shelters and animal control agencies have killed cats for over a century, including advocating for transparency in shelter numbers and operations.
  • Engage with grassroots advocates, municipal leaders, and lawmakers to replace deadly laws and policies with ones that protect cats.
  • Provide expertise and relief during disasters, like this year’s wildfires and hurricanes, and launch lifesaving initiatives such as Keeping Families Togetherâ„¢, which has supplied cat and dog food and cat litter to food banks for in-need community members during the pandemic.
  • Advance lifesaving innovations such as Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and Shelter-Neuter-Return (SNR), high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter, microchipping, anti-declawing legislation, and any program that best serves the interests of cats.

The work we do on behalf of cats would not be possible without you, and we thank you deeply for your trust and support.
