DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Administrative Assistant’s primary responsibility is to directly assist the President by providing the following:
• Manage the president’s daily schedule including interviews, meetings, and travel and presentations.
• Serve as liaison for the president with outside organizations and individuals.
• Answer and screen phone calls.
• Assist with compiling expense reports.
• Sort mail and email.
• Filing and archiving – especially electronic documents.
• Provide logistical support and coordination to assist president while she is off traveling.
• Prepare for, attend, take notes and ensure appropriate follow-up for meetings.
• Other clerical and support duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience as administrative assistant a must.
• Exceptional organizational skills for office work.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to work in different program areas that may have little shared knowledge.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize.
• Must be proactive, resourceful, confident and able to think on your feet.
• Understand and apply computer technology to efficiently accomplish work using Internet, Word, E-mail, Excel.

Web Developer

advocating for public policy change; building and leading a national movement to stop the killing; expanding the practice of Trap-Neuter-Return and the humane ethic of care; and educating

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Web Developer will be responsible for overall maintenance and ongoing enhancement of Alley Cat Allies’ website, as well as sending e-mail communications such as FeralPower! action
emails. This position will assure data integrity by managing the flow of information from Net Community into Raiser’s Edge.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Web Management Duties
Complete all updates to alleycat.org
Draft web content and post written content.
On a daily basis, follow the latest news, research, events, recruitment, department calendar, and activities that may serve as content for the website and work with appropriate
staff to get content or information.
Ensure that all web site content is uploaded to the site.
Evaluate all content for its value in search engine optimization according to key word frequency, key word density, formatting, etc.
Be accessible after-hours for urgent updates and issues that may arise.
Ensure overall integrity of web site through constant review of content and by troubleshooting errors.
Research information / best practices that enhance the value of the web site. Work to keep the site up to date with branding standards and available technologies.
Interface with web vendors to troubleshoot or obtain information as needed.
In conjunction with staff content providers, manage ongoing, strategic, cohesive email campaigns to educate, solicit and mobilize supporters including news alerts, actions
alerts, and event invitations
Assist ACA departments to identify and create timely and topical action items, news updates, and action requests that complement ongoing online communications strategies.
Database Duties:
Approve data to be added when users sign up, take action or edit their profiles.
Manage bad e-mail addresses.
Pull database reports.
Generate accurate reports – monthly, quarterly and annually – with activist membership in quantity and changes, and number of action emails generated for each
campaign.
Outreach and Recruitment Duties:
Manage Alley Cat Allies’ presence on social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace.
Manage the multiple listservs. Report monthly, quarterly and annually on the number of members, and usage.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly for varied audiences.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with new media – i.e. blogs, podcasts, social networks.
Strong computer skills.
Understanding of web usability and browser compatibility
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelors Degree is required.
Experience with online communications.
Knowledge of HTML ( hand-coding experience preferred) , Flash, CSS, Javascript, and Photoshop.
Experience with CMS required; Experience with Blackbaud’s NetCommunity a plus.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge. Background in report design to create reports using Crystal Reports a plus.

Campaigns Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working alongside the Senior Campaign Manager, the Campaigns Intern will have the opportunity to work directly with feral cat advocates and caregivers to engage them in No-Kill movement and gain an understanding of how to develop national public awareness campaigns and other grassroots efforts. The Campaigns Intern will help campaigns staff educate government officials about outdoor cats and humane methods of managing them. This person will help feral cat advocates get the information and materials they need to succeed in changing their communities and stopping the killing in their local shelters.
POSITION SUPERVISOR: This position reports to the Senior Campaigns Manager.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research municipalities, organizations, and other information as needed;
Helping the campaign staff with mailings, projects, and events;
Writing and editing action alerts and other materials, as needed;
Assisting with administrative duties such as data entry and member mailings;
Assisting with organizing files;
Possibility for occasional local travel to conferences or other tabling opportunities, and;
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
High School degree;
Experience with feral cat care-giving a plus but not required;
No previous professional experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and get involved. Background in legislative process or community organizing preferred.

“Every Kitty – Every City” is a targeted effort to create much needed, life-saving programs which will benefit all cats. Through this program, Alley Cat
Allies partners with local Trap-Neuter-Return groups, shelters, animal control agencies, and governments to create a lasting, effective program for outdoor cats. Our work
includes initiating adult humane education through mass media and events, offering training for animal control officers, and helping local groups and governments increase
the community’s low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter and vaccination services for all cats.
